Welcome to the “new” and (hopefully) improved FreeSide Wiki.

For the time being there isn’t much to look at as we repopulate it with some useful information after two freak “accidents” involving “rm” and one with me smiling.

So, why start the wiki from scratch?

  • The old wiki was an old version of the MediaWiki Software and needed updating.
  • There was no integration with the LDAP server
  • As such the old wiki was getting overwritten with SPAM
  • The information was getting out of date

What are the improvements?

  • Being an updated version of the software, we can only hope the wiki is less buggy and generally works better...we’ll see.
  • With the LDAP integration all FreeSide members are automatically able to login and start adding/editing.
  • The Admins have a place to get down ideas and documents for approval.

NOTE: Edit rights to the wiki is a privilege. Any spam found will be tracked, removed and the user beaten comically with a cricket bat.
