"Staff" Hierarchy

The current FreeSide hierarchy is made up of a 5 tier tree.

Service Additions

FreeSide is based on service. This being the case, we encourage the addition of extra services that may enhance our user base and their experience. However, time and care must be taken as not to cause issues for an of the implemented services or the FreeSide users.

Below is an initial sequence of things to be done to add service.

  1. A request is made to the FreeSide admins via IRC and discussed.
  2. If accepted, a wiki page will be added describing the features of the service, how it will be implemented, requirements for implementation, time scale for implementation, security concerns and any other details determined to be related to the service.
  3. The wiki page will be advertised on the FreeSide website and will be given between 1 and 2 weeks (depending on the service requested). During this time, alterations may be made to the spec and comments made.
  4. After the time is up, the decision on whether to proceed with implementation will be based upon the writeup on the wiki.
  5. If accepted work will begin.
  6. If new hardware is required, a request will be made from any available sources.
  7. The service will be set up locally to the FreeSide network with no external access.
  8. Testing on the service will occur within the network.
  9. Once successfully tested, the service will be open to all FreeSide users.
  10. Documentation on implementation will be added to the wiki for future reference.
